Understanding of digital and physical design skills, understanding of UX UI and service design, strong verbal and written communication skills, clear ability to lead, manage and inspire others.. understanding of business and non creative roles that are instrumental for influencing and impacting results.. greater understanding of business being less isolated from the market and business needs …

What should a design school do to prepare students for transdisciplinary work?

Create a range of subjects that are included in the curriculum that touch these varied disciplines and skillsets .. emphasize in the overall philosophy of the program how the range of knowledge is instrumental and truly a compelling foundation and re-affirm the need for this curriculum by exposing the students to industry examples in terms of roles and industry leaders who are working in these broad ways

What should a design school do to forward equity and inclusion?

Enroll a diverse student population and expose the students prior to declaration of majors how valued design is within the business community and it’s viability as a career, in addition expose the high school level teachers and students to the possibility of design as a career

What other thoughts/ideas would you like to share?

Areas of need in the market include service design, true innovation and the ability to help develop products and services in white space and design research …the emphasis of basic project management, staff management and leadership skills
are crucial
